December 22, 2021 – COVID

Dear Members,

We just got off our weekly call with the League and we wanted to provide all of you with a COVID update heading into the holiday season.

There have been no talks about delaying games.  As a group, we are going to do everything in our power to ensure that we continue to play games this season.  The plan is to move forward as scheduled and to update the COVID protocols to address new COVID concerns and travel restrictions as they arise.

The League is working with League doctors on an updated protocol which will be announced no later than next Monday December 27, 2021.

Based on our preliminary discussions with the League, it is likely that there will be increased mask usage required and enhanced testing.  Further, the League and the NLLPA will encourage everyone to get their booster when they can (Canada and the US may switch their definition of ‘fully vaccinated’ to include the booster shot).

Lastly, PCR tests are now required to be administered in the country you are traveling from in order to return to Canada.  In other words, residents of Canada will need a test from the US when we return home to Canada and we cannot simply use our Canadian test despite being within 72 hours.

Happy Holidays,
