March 23, 2021 – Union Name Change

Hello Members,

NLLPA – Our Union, the Professional Lacrosse Players Association (“PLPA”), has officially changed its name to the National Lacrosse League Players Association (“NLLPA”).  The purpose behind this decision is to have more alignment with our League and to re-brand our union.  We will be launching our new website and social media accounts soon.

CONTRACTS – the big topic on everyone’s mind right now.  We are working with the league on a uniform approach to handling contracts.  We have analyzed all player contracts and there is a lot of discrepancy across the league which makes it tricky to come to a fair and equitable solution for everyone.  We received a proposal from the league last week and discussed it with the Executive Committee.  We will be sending a proposal back to the league shortly and we will update everyone once we have some more information.  Of note, if the NLLPA and the League cannot come to a side letter agreement, the contracts are treated as is. Expiring contracts expire and players/GMs renegotiate, multi-year deals move on to the 2021-2022 season and UFA/RFA’s can enter free agency.

We will be informing you soon of some new NLLPA business partners.

Please see my updated contact information below.

Thank you,

Reid Reinholdt
