Dear Members,
The NLLPA filed a Grievance in 2022 when we learned that players who were on IR during playoff games were receiving nothing ($0)…
In the Players’ Association’s opinion, the CBA language was clear that injured players receive Workers’ Compensation benefits… [or] 67% of their usual game compensation for the season AND a “season” is defined as “the period beginning with the first practice session and ending with the Player’s final regular season, or post-season, game.”
The NLLPA and the League were able to come to a settlement. The substantive terms are below:
- Players on IR during their Club’s 2021-22 NLL Playoff games and during their Club’s Playoff games in seasons thereafter shall be entitled to receive 67% of the then-minimum playoff compensation (e.g., for the 2022-23 NLL Playoffs, 67% of $1,000) per game, as applicable.
- No further compensation, damages, or other payments shall be considered due and payable to any Player for any reason relating to the settlement of this grievance or the terms thereof.
Please review the below list of players on IR in 2022 and 2023 during the playoffs and reach out if you feel there is an omission.
Note: If you received workers compensation benefits through the US, you are not eligible for additional compensation.
Once we confirm the list of players, we will total up their compensation, integrate them into a side letter agreement and get payment out to
If these appear correct, I will total up their compensation due and integrate them into a side letter agreement as discussed.
