This is an important CALL TO ACTION.
As we prepare to head into this upcoming season, we all need to remain well aware of the glaring gap in workers compensation protections for our members who suffer on-field injuries while playing for Canadian teams.
Spearheaded by the CFLPA, and in collaboration with the NHLPA, PHPA, MLBPA, and NBPA, we have continued pressuring Canadian governments to include our members in the provincial worker’s compensation acts.
After a meeting in British Columbia last week, the workers compensation board indicated they seek SUPPORT for our initiative. It is important the board hears from ALL of us as this directly impacts our membership.
Please use the below link provided by the CFLPA to send an auto-generated note to the WorkSafeBC board and staff, along with the Minister of Labour and Premier of the Province.
The deadline for submissions is the end of this week on November 17th.
