February 4, 2022 – Mileage, Expansion Payment & Additional Player Expense Reimbursements

Hello NLLPA Members,

We are happy to report that last weekend, week 9, was the first weekend COVID cases have decreased.  However, please continue to follow league protocols and stay safe.  Please see the below updates regarding 2022 Mileage, Expansion Payment & Additional Player Expense Reimbursements.

2022 Mileage Reimbursement

Mileage is paid to players driving 60 miles or more round trip to/from team sanctioned events (practices, games, training camp, appearances, and flights) and is paid at the current IRS rate per mile minus 9 cents.

  • 2021 mileage reimbursement is 0.47 USD/mile (2021 IRS rate of 0.56 USD/mile).
  • 2022 mileage reimbursement is 0.49.5 USD/mile (2022 IRS rate of 58.5 cents per mile, up 2.5 cents from the rate for 2021.)

Panther City Expansion Payment

The NLL has recently received the final expansion payment installment for Panther City (Fort Worth).  They are in the process of coordinating payments to the players with the teams.  Our membership‘s portion of the final expansion payment is $100,000.  This will be split amongst all members who qualified to receive Panther City expansion monies (ie. members who received the first two installments).  Rookies, you should not expect to receive this payment as you were not in the league when the league expanded to Panther City.

Additional Player Expense Reimbursement

This is a friendly reminder that each team must pay $7,000 in additional player expense reimbursements.  For a team to claim their expense reimbursement, the player rep just needs to reach out to the club and the NLLPA regarding the details.

Thank you,
