February 23, 2022 – Commissioner Sakiewicz & Taxes

Hello Members,

Please see the below two updates regarding (1) the departure of Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz and (2) Tax tips as tax season approaches.

Commissioner Sakiewicz

Please be advised that the NLL has announced the departure of Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz after 6 seasons.  Nick has done many great things for our league throughout his tenure and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.  In the interim, Jessica Berman will assume the Commissioners duties and Nick will help transition for four months.

As the Commissioner, Nick was a representative of our league’s owners.  Therefore, the league’s owners and board of governors will begin the process of searching for a replacement.  We strongly believe that our owners will find a more than suitable replacement who can continue the momentum our league has begun to generate.

Taxes

Tax season is around the corner.  Many of you should have begun to receive your T4’s or tax slips from your respective teams.  With the assistance of Zach’s step father, who is an accountant in Ontario, we have prepared the attached Tax Tips document to help assist you with filing your taxes for 2021.

Please note, this material has been prepared for informational purposes only, and is not intended to provide, and should not be relied on for, tax, legal, or accounting advice.

Thank you and good luck this weekend,
